    I. How We Collect Your Personal Information

    Important Notes

    a) To provide the basic functions of our products and services, you need to authorize us to collect and use the necessary information. If you refuse to provide such necessary information, you will not be able to use our products and services normally.
    b) If you refuse to allow us to collect any of your personal information, we will not be able to provide the full basic functions of the Platform. In that case we will provide you with a “browse-only” mode, intended to let you experience some basic functions of the Platform before you decide to accept this Privacy Policy—i.e., viewing certain content, generally informational material and content generated by other users who have consented to this Privacy Policy.
    c) To provide extended features of our products and services, you may choose to authorize us to further collect and use additional information beyond what is required for the basic functions; if you refuse to provide such information, you will not be able to use the related additional features or achieve the intended functional effects, but this will not affect your use of the basic functions of our products and services.
    d) If certain information alone or in combination with other information cannot be used to identify you, it is not considered personal information about you under the law. When information we hold can objectively be combined with other information to identify you, even if we do not intend or are unable to identify you by obtaining or combining any other information, such information will, for as long as it is used, be treated as your personal information and processed and protected under this Policy.
    e) The functions and services we provide are continuously updated and developed. If a function or service not described below collects your information, we will separately explain the content, scope, and purpose of such collection through page prompts, interactive flows, website announcements, or other means.
    f) Information you provide may include your sensitive personal information. Sensitive personal information refers to information that, if disclosed or illegally used, could easily harm an individual’s dignity or personal and property safety. This includes biometric data (e.g., facial information, fingerprints, iris data), religious beliefs, specific identities (e.g., Party membership, military status), medical health information (e.g., heart rate, medical conditions, treatment records), financial account details (e.g., financial accounts, transaction passwords), location tracking, and personal information of minors under 14 years old. Please exercise caution with sensitive personal information. You agree that we may process your sensitive personal information for the purposes and in the manner described in this Policy.
    g) You may review the “Personal Information List” for details on how we collect and use your personal information.
    h) We highly value your data-subject rights and provide convenient entry points so you can quickly and easily withdraw consent to the use of previously authorized information or modify relevant information.

1.1 Principles for Collecting and Using Personal Information

When collecting and using your personal information, we adhere to the following principles: accountability, clear purpose, consent, necessity, security, data subject participation, and transparency.

1.2 Purposes for Collecting and Using Personal Information

To comply with relevant laws and regulations in mainland China, to provide services to you, to safeguard the security of your account and the system, and to optimize your service experience, we collect information that you actively provide, authorize, or request when you register for or use our products and services, as well as information generated when you use Futubull products and services, for the purposes and in the manner described below.

    1.2.1 Registration, Log-in, and Authentication

    a) When you register for or log in to Futubull products or services, you may create an account with a mobile number (during which we will send a verification code to your mobile device by SMS). You may also complete your online identity information (profile picture, nickname, password). We collect this information to help you complete registration. You may optionally provide an e-mail address, gender, personal profile, or bind a third-party account to enrich your profile.
    b) You may also register, log in, and use Futubull products or services with third-party accounts such as WeChat, Weibo, QQ, or Xiaomi account. By doing so, you authorize us to obtain your publicly available information (e.g., profile picture, nickname) from the third-party platform to bind with your Futubull account, enabling direct login and use of our products and services. To help you identify third-party login options, we may need to access your software installation list. Unless you explicitly choose or as required by applicable laws, we will not share this information externally or use it for purposes other than this function.
    c) When you choose to log in with a verification code, we will request permission to send SMS from your device. Standard messaging rates may apply and are charged by your mobile network operator; we do not charge any SMS fees. If you refuse to send SMS, you will not be able to use verification-code log-in but may choose an alternative log-in method.
    d) Through cooperation with communication operators, you may use the “one-tap log-in” feature. When you do so, the operator will, after obtaining your explicit consent via push link or similar method, transmit your mobile number to us. During this process, network permission and read-phone-state permission may be requested, and operator (third-party) SDKs will be invoked to provide you with quick log-in. Mobile numbers are important personal information; refusal will prevent use of one-tap log-in but will not affect other log-in methods or other functions.
    e) If you refuse to provide any personal information, you will only be able to use “browse-only” mode, and we will not be able to provide the full basic functions of Futubull.

    1.2.2 Account Management

    a) When you reset the mobile number bound to your Futubull account, we will assess the security level of your account and verify your identity by sending an SMS code to your previously bound mobile number. If you do not agree, you will not be able to use this function to reset the mobile number but may continue to use other services.
    b) When you use account services such as retrieving or changing passwords, unbinding, or deactivating an account, we need to verify your personal information, including mobile number, device information, security status, and account details, to protect your account security.

1.2.3 Browsing and Searching for Quote Information

    a) When you use Futubull’s quote-system alerts or important-event reminders, we will request calendar permission so you can receive timely information. Denial will disable the reminder function but will not affect other services.
    b) When you browse or search for quotes on Futubull, we collect information generated during access and use, such as taps, views, follows, favorites, searches, queries, and shares.
    c) To allow you to claim and use relevant quote-related entitlements and services, we will use your Futubull ID and IP address for regional or account-validity identification. If you disagree, regional or account-validity judgments may be affected, which may in turn affect your ability to claim and use these entitlements and services.
    d) We provide free basic quote services that meet trading needs. When you require more professional quote services, the professional provider’s compliance requirements may oblige you to provide additional personal information, which may include Futubull ID, name, contact phone, residential address and zip code, e-mail, occupation, position, or employer address. We remind you to provide such information cautiously and will obtain your separate consent before facilitating such professional quote services.

1.2.4 Account Opening and Wealth Management

    a) When you access brokerage account-opening functions via Futubull, we will request camera, microphone, and location permissions. Refusal will prevent completion of the account-opening process.
    b) You may choose to have the relevant brokerage directly collect the personal information required for account opening. Under applicable securities laws and brokerage rules, this includes front and back photos of your ID, a bareheaded photo, a video demonstrating real-name intent (one-way or two-way), and your mailing address, employer, occupation, and geolocation. The collection of the aforementioned information is the sole responsibility of the designated brokerage. Before submitting such information, you must carefully read and agree to the brokerage’s own information-collection rules or policies. If you disagree, you will not be able to use the account-opening function but may continue to use other services.
    c) When you access bank account-opening functions via Futubull, we will request camera permission. Refusal will prevent completion of the account-opening process.
    d) You may choose to have the relevant bank directly collect the personal information required for account opening. Under applicable banking laws and bank rules, this includes front and back photos of your ID, residential address, mailing address, employer and position, mobile number, and e-mail address. The collection of the aforementioned information is the sole responsibility of the designated bank. Before submitting such information, you must read and agree to the bank’s information-collection rules or policies. If you disagree, you will not be able to use the account-opening function but may continue to use other services.
    e) When you access bank-transfer functions via Futubull, to enhance your experience you may enable contacts permission. If enabled, we will, according to your selection, match and display relevant contacts so you can quickly choose a payee and their contact information. If you refuse to provide contact permissions, you will not be able to use the convenient service of quickly importing payee information. The processing of such information is the sole responsibility of the designated bank. Before submitting, you must read and agree to the bank’s rules or policies. If you disagree, you will not be able to use the quick-import service but may continue to use other services.
    f) In the above scenarios, to ensure functionality and security, we may request or use relevant operating-system permissions; see the “Permission Application and Usage Statement for details”.

    1.2.5 Community Interaction

    a) When you edit your Futubull profile picture or post ideas, columns, photos, or live streams in Futubull Community, if you choose “Take Photo” or “Record Video,” we will request camera permission; if you choose “Select from Album,” we will request photo-library permission. If you choose to save images discovered in Futubull Community to your album, we will not request photo-library permission.
    b) When you apply to become a Futubull Community streamer, you must apply via verification code; we will request SMS-sending permission. Standard SMS rates may apply and are charged by your carrier; we do not charge SMS fees. Refusal will prevent you from applying but will not affect other services.
    c) When you use Futubull Community live-streaming (training streams or as a streamer), we will request microphone and Bluetooth permissions.

    1.2.6 Rewards Club

If you choose to use the Rewards Club service and exchange your points for physical goods, we will collect your exchange information, point balance, contact details (contact person, mailing address, and phone number), and logistics information. If you refuse, we will not be able to deliver the goods to you but other services will remain unaffected.

    1.2.7 Customer Service

If you contact customer service, we may request necessary personal information for identity verification to protect your account. Within the scope of your authorization, our agents may query or verify relevant information. We will take technical and managerial measures to secure and keep your information confidential and use it only as necessary. We may also retain your contact details, communication records, and content with us, as well as other necessary information, to provide and record customer service.

    1.2.8 Security and Operation

To ensure normal service use, account security, and identification of abnormal account status, we collect log information generated during your use of our services and correlate such information.

    1.2.9 Copying and Sharing Information

To facilitate copying, sharing, or receiving shared information (e.g., copying Futubull ID, order number, or news text), we need local clipboard access to read whether there is text to be copied or pasted, enabling quick input and sharing. When you post comments or updates in Futubull Community, we will read and upload clipboard information so that your comments or updates can be posted; otherwise we do not upload other clipboard data to our servers.

    1.2.10 Other Scenarios

We may use your device’s sensors for light detection. In low-light environments, we will prompt you to turn on the flashlight to improve the success rate of scanning QR codes. For the purpose of providing secure services, we may also use your sensors to report security parameter data.

II. How We Use Cookies and Similar Technologies

    2.1 Cookies

To make your visits easier, when you use Futubull products or services, we may use various technologies to collect and store data related to your use of our services. When you visit or revisit our services, we can recognize you and, by analyzing data, provide better services. This includes using small data files to identify you, understand your habits, save you from re-entering account details, or help determine account security. These files may be Cookies, Flash Cookie, or other local storage provided by your browser or related applications (collectively “Cookies”). We do not use Cookies for purposes other than those described in this Policy. You can manage or delete Cookies according to your preferences. For details see AboutCookies.org. You can clear all Cookies stored on your computer, and most browsers allow you to block Cookies. If you do so, certain functions that depend on cookies may be unavailable, and you may need to manually adjust settings each time you visit.

2.2 Web Beacons and Pixel Tags

In addition to Cookies, we may use web beacons, pixel tags, and similar technologies. For example, emails we send you may contain tap-through URLs that link to content on our website. If you tap the link, we track the tap to help us understand your preferences and improve customer service. Web beacons are usually transparent images embedded in websites or emails. Pixel tags in emails let us know whether an email has been opened.

    2.3 Do Not Track

Many browsers offer a Do Not Track feature that sends a Do Not Track request to websites. Currently, major internet standards organizations have not established policies on how websites should respond to such requests. If your browser enables Do Not Track, we will respect your choice.

III. How We Share, Transfer, and Publicly Disclose Your Personal Information

    3.1 Sharing

Unless otherwise provided below or you consent to our sharing your personal information with a third party, we will not transmit your personal information to third parties. If a third party undergoes a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale, or for legal or other reasons, we will transfer your information to such entities so that we can continue to provide services. In such cases we will always require the third party to abide by this Privacy Policy.
We share your information only with selected third parties when reasonably necessary, including:

    3.1.1 Our Affiliates

Certain services are provided by service providers, which may include website hosting, data analysis, payment facilitation, IT and related infrastructure, customer service, email delivery, targeted-ad identification and delivery, mailing services, etc. We share personal information only for lawful, legitimate, necessary, specific, and explicit purposes and only to the extent necessary to provide those services. Our service providers must provide data protection equivalent to that described in this Privacy Policy and are prohibited from retaining, using, or disclosing your personal information except as necessary to provide services to us.

By using sharing features, you authorize us to facilitate the sharing you select, and you understand that the use of shared information will be governed by the social-media provider’s privacy policy.

We employ multiple safeguards to protect your personal information against loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Strict information-security rules and procedures are in place, and a dedicated information-security team enforces them throughout our organization.
We take all reasonable and feasible measures to ensure that only relevant personal information is collected. We retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes stated in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. When the retention period expires, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time, except where otherwise stipulated by applicable laws and regulations.
The Internet is not an absolutely secure environment. Emails, instant messages, and communications with other Futubull users are not encrypted; we strongly recommend that you do not transmit personal information through such channels.
We maintain an incident-response plan. In the event of a personal-data breach, we will activate the plan to contain the incident and will promptly notify you via email, letter, telephone, push notification, or other reasonable and effective means. If individual notice is not feasible, we will issue a public announcement. While no Internet transmission is 100 % secure, we will endeavor to ensure the security of your information.
You can help protect your account by never disclosing your log-in password or account details to anyone (unless formally authorized). We also recommend that you do not use Futubull products or services on any device or operating system that has been modified outside the manufacturer’s permitted or warranted scope (e.g., a “jail-broken” device); doing so may increase the risk of personal-data leakage.
We are not responsible for security breaches caused by third parties accessing your personal information due to your failure to maintain its confidentiality. Despite the above, if any other internet user accesses your account without authorization or if any other security vulnerabilities occur, you should immediately notify us. Your cooperation will help us protect the confidentiality of your personal information.

5.2 In general, we retain your personal information only for the shortest period necessary to achieve the purposes stated in this Policy, unless you separately agree to an extended retention period or another legally permissible exception applies. We may extend the retention period when required by law in the following circumstances:

    b) To comply with court judgments, orders, or other legal processes;
    c) To comply with requests from relevant government authorities or statutorily authorized organizations;

VIII. How We Protect Minors’ Information

We attach great importance to protecting minors’ personal information. Pursuant to applicable laws and regulations, if you are under 18, you must obtain prior consent from your parent or legal guardian before using our services. You should ask your parent or guardian to read this Policy carefully and only submit your personal information after they have given consent. We also recommend that you use our services under their guidance. Otherwise, you must immediately stop submitting information or using our services and promptly notify us so that we can take effective measures. We will use or disclose a minor’s information only when permitted by law, explicitly consented to by a parent or guardian, or necessary to protect the minor’s rights and interests. If you are a parent or guardian and have questions about personal information relating to a minor under your guardianship, please contact us using the methods provided in Section I or XIV of this Policy.

IX. International Transfer of Your Personal Information

As a general principle, personal information that we collect and generate in the course of operating the App and related products/services within the People’s Republic of China will be stored inside China, except where cross-border transfer is permitted under applicable law. Because we provide products and services through resources and servers located around the world, this means that—after we have obtained your separate consent—your personal information may be transferred to, or accessed from, the country or region in which you use our products or services. Such jurisdictions may have different, or even no, data-protection laws. If, for operational or management reasons, we subsequently need to transfer your personal information collected and processed under this Policy outside China (including making it accessible to other jurisdictions), we will, before any transfer, strictly fulfill all statutory prerequisites and legal obligations required by laws and regulations and regulatory authorities. These include, but are not limited to, informing you of the overseas recipient’s name and contact details, the purpose and method of the transfer, the categories of personal information involved, the manner and procedure by which you may exercise your rights against the overseas recipient, and obtaining your explicit, separate consent. Where such jurisdictions provide a lower level of data protection, we will ensure that your personal information receives protection equivalent to that afforded within China—for example, by requesting your consent to the cross-border transfer or by implementing security measures such as pseudonymization before the transfer.

When you visit the service platforms or pages of international brokers or third parties to obtain their products or services, those international brokers or third parties may themselves provide products or services via global resources and servers. If you wish to obtain such products or services, you may be required, in accordance with the requirements of those products or services and their privacy policies, to provide relevant information directly to the overseas broker or third party. Please carefully review the privacy policies or similar documents of such products or services, assess the risks, and decide for yourself whether to accept or use those products or services or to provide information to the international broker or third party. Products or services provided by international brokers or third parties are not governed by this Privacy Policy.

    XI. Information You Share

Through our services, you may share information with friends, family, and other users—for example, by posting text or photos in Futubull Community. You can control the scope of what you share via the privacy settings in our services and can delete publicly shared information in accordance with the guidance we provide. Please note, however, that such information may be independently retained by other users or by unaffiliated third parties beyond our control.

    XII. Updates to This Policy

To fully protect your lawful rights and to keep you informed of the latest developments in our personal-data protection practices, we will publish updated versions of this Policy in the mobile application (path: Me → Settings → Privacy → Privacy Policy). We will update this Policy in a timely manner whenever required by law, whenever our business changes, or whenever necessary to ensure compliance. If any update materially diminishes your rights under this Policy, we will highlight the changes on this page and will also notify you via our official website, in-app messages, or other appropriate means. If the update involves changes to the purposes or methods of processing, or to the categories of personal information processed, we will obtain your consent again.

    XIII. Scope of This Policy

13.1 Unless we explicitly state that a service is subject to a separately formulated privacy policy or terms, this Policy applies to all services provided by companies under the Futu Group. However, certain services may have specific privacy guidelines/statements as needed. In case of any inconsistency between this Policy and the specific privacy guidelines/statements for a particular service, the specific guidelines/statements shall prevail.
13.2 Headings in this Policy are provided for convenience of reading only and do not affect the interpretation of any provision.
